Dustin

I love Dustin! He is so thoughtful of others! He is consistently aware of those around him and is mindful of my needs. Dustin is a hard worker--he frequently works 11+ hour days! At work, he pays close attention to detail, researches effectively, works well with others and offers respect to everyone he works with! Dustin is a hard worker at home, too! He always takes out the trash, maintains our vehicles, fixes household problems and solves any dilemma our family encounters! I love Dustin because he provides for our family and manages our finances with consistency, accuracy and understanding! I am so grateful that he worked hard to earn his MBA (with an emphasis in Finance) in order to gain ground in the business world! I trust Dustin with ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! He is competent, trustworthy, smart and loyal! I know that he will be a GREAT dad and spiritual leader for our family! I love Dustin's talents--he is an amazing at surfing, wake boarding, riding dirt bikes/ATV's and any other physical challenge he engages in! Besides all of his character traits that I admire/respect, he is so handsome! I am more and more attracted to Dustin! I love when he smiles because it makes his eyes sparkle! I love you, Dustin! You are the best husband a girl could have! I am so thankful to spend eternity working, building a family, having fun and learning with you!!

Birthdays

Dustin's birthday was yesterday! Happy Birthday!! The big 3-1! It was quite uneventful for him since he was working in San Jose and then flying home....birthdays seems to get more and more lame (in my opinion) the older you get. Gone are the birthday parties with balloons, cakes, candles and wrapped presents; in are the birthdays with an excuse to eat out (which is awesome, but less enjoyable since all the money is coming from the same account, thus guilt still looms over the meal), an excuse to be lazy AFTER work and an excuse to hit the sack early! I guess those aren't such bad plans...however, I can't help but notice how birthdays start off so HUGE and then eventually wind down to complete non-acknowledgment! I know a few people who, in fact, DON'T like to be wished a 'happy birthday' on their day!

Despite the general diminishing of froo-froo details on one's birthday, I can say that the major solace of birthdays are the consistent gifts from parents, in-laws and grandparents! They send the dollar bills, ya'll, which always serve as an answer to prayers....for us, anyway! We are MOST thankful for their generosity!!! This year, Dustin got a little something extra from Grandma Roberts! I think he was surprised to unwrap (yes, he actually got to unwrap a present!) two of the cutest Sunday outfits for the baby!! I love them! Mom said that he is the spiritual leader of the house and she wants our daughter to be prepared for consistent, weekly church attendance. Mom is constantly imparting good gospel standards for us to consider!!

Favorite Toy

CHOCO's TOY

This is a special little toy
One given to a "good 'ole boy!"
Auntie Beanie offered him up
Which made for one ecstatic pup!

After much play (and torture too),
He ended up looking not so new.
His eyes can't see, his nose is gone,
Choco shows this toy who's brawn!

Hey, when you're only seven pounds
And a toy for most other hounds,
Sometimes thrashing and playing rough
proves to others that you are tough!!

Don't let this display keep you deceived,
For things are not always as perceived...
Tattered and torn, the message sends,
But truth be told, they are best friends!

Skateboarding the "Boardwalk"

Reasons our Saturday was most enjoyable:

1) After sleeping in together, a luxury soon to be eliminated, Dustin and I biked/skateboarded to the ocean for the day! Choco, not to be left behind, was willing to endure almost anything--including braving the skateboard...

b) The older Morrison's (a.k.a. Dan/LesLey and fam) cruised up to Dog Beach (with their dog in tow) to frolic in the sun! We enjoyed spending time with them! Amanda (niece), the little explorer that she is, discovered and collected an array of shells and smooth rocks, which she was more than happy to display....

c) Upon hearing that Steve Johnson (Ricky's bff) was speaking here in Newport, we planned a night on the town! Unfortunately, Steve came down with a severe headache, which FORCED us to get into sweatpants and order pizza instead. Since I've been feeling soooo gorgeous lately, I was obviously disappointed...If I were a cat, this would have been my reaction to the news:

We always enjoy chatting and chilling with Steve!! All in all, it was a GREAT Saturday!

Baby's Crib

Eloise gave us these comfy, cute shoes for the baby!

These socks, that Eloise spoiled us with, are PERFECT for little ones because they have built-in shoes!! No more kicking off and losing shoes!

This is the crib and bedding, but the colors are so light that they barely appear! The cream, bare walls don't help...Let's take a closer look....

Still hard to see....the skirt is silk with raised polka dots in a soft cream...we bought a few sheets, but this one is my favorite--it's cream with light pink polka dots....the bumpers are a mix of the cream/polka-dot silk and a soft pinkish gingham pattern. Let's get even closer...

Can you see it now? You might have to click on the photo and enlarge it in order to see it! I love it! I like how soft the colors are and how thick the bumpers are!

We have been feeling the baby move for a few weeks now, which has been really neat! Dustin likes to lay his head on my tummy so he can feel her kicks better! Today, I could actually feel some body part in a particular area! Does that make sense? I couldn't tell what which body part, but my stomach was noticeably more solid in one particular area! Then, when I was feeling it, the baby moved to a different position, so I know it was more than constipation! I'm almost 25 weeks along!

Comments

Yea!! I love when people comment on my blog...makes me feel most cozy! I was shocked to see 6 comments on my last posting, no mind that two of them were from Beanie and one was from...well, ME. I was especially stoked to hear from a little friend named Pepper! Always one to bring amusement to my life, she once again made me smile! Of course, I love hearing from my usual visitors--Jenn, Melisa and Bean! So, thanks guys, you've made my day!

Our Beaches

Dustin's favorite surf spot (in the northern Orange County area) is the River Jetties, in Newport Beach. Typically, we fight the congestion associated with the Saturday crowds and narrow streets in order to enjoy a bit of time in the sun. Lately, we've been scoring these sweet parking spots (non-metered and close to tower 74), which saves us time and energy! However, with summer winding down, the beaches are becoming more and more isolated--much to our satisfaction! Now, we only have to vie with the locals for parking spots and space on the beach! The beach was practically empty for the sunset!

You might ask yourselves if we could be any more lame.....yes, this is the pregnancy-profile-sunset shot. Lame.
Oh, wait, another one!! Doesn't it look like a pink "V" is shining from my head? That is not an illusion...I really do radiate pink now!

Isn't Dusty so handsome? He's just a little beach bum! Behind him stand houses in Newport that are ridiculously overpriced....but nice!

This is the entrance to the Main Street pier. I thought it looked cool with the sun setting!

Choco Buddy

Well, after two and a half years, Choco has only a few months left to soak in the attention. He's a really good pup. Besides being extraordinarily cute, he is quite obedient, is potty trained, doesn't shed or drool, isn't a messy eater and sends himself to "timeout" when he barks! Choco especially loves his dad! As you can see, he loves to play and lounge with Dustin. I will have to take video of him playing and practicing his tricks! I love this dog!

Dustin and Choco working on the laptop!

Taking a little snooze.......
"Choco!" Thanks for the crotch shot!
Dustin and I live a couple blocks from Main Street, which is a popular attraction for those visiting Huntington Beach. One of our favorite places to enjoy a little treat is Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. They sell this amazing caramel covered apple with white chocolate, cinnamon and sugar....you know what I'm talking about Colleen! They are ridiculously delicious! Anywho, the store always places this giant stuffed bear outside, which I'm sure a million people have touched, in order to attract folks to their store. We, being tormented by the California cost of living, did not actually purchase an apple, but instead opted to have Choco pose with this bear....free of cost. Maybe we could save up for an apple....

My growing belly!

Thank you, Choco, for posing with me!!

I promise, it feels bigger than it looks....plus, my new boobs minimize my stomach's effect!! Ha, ha! (We're all family, right?)

You might not be able to see much belly from this angle.........BUT.......

How about this little belly?! I am wearing one of those spandex waist bands to keep my pants from falling--since I don't come close to buttoning or zipping any of my pants or skirts!!

I'm pregnant!! When it comes to gaining weight, I keep trying to pace myself, but my efforts have proven ineffective! In fact, at my last appointment, I was told that eight pounds in one month was a little excessive. Apparently, I am supposed to average 2-3 lbs a MONTH?! Am I the only one that finds that unreasonable? Oh well, if ever there was a time to pack on a few lbs, it is now! p.s. Jenn, how do I get my introduction--this paragraph--to be at the TOP of each posting?

Baby Fever

Some swaddling blankets and burping cloths (from Mommasita) and a little tutu and swimsuit (from Momma-in-law)!! How darling is all this stuff?!

Obviously, the black curtains have got to go! I am planning on using the bedding (from LesLey!!) to match some cute fabric to make new curtains! Okay, okay, I will pick the fabric, but my Mother will be the one sewing.....:)

Look at all these cute clothes that my Mom, Eloise (mom-in-law), LesLey (sister-in-law) and Deina (sister-in-law) have given me!! I am most thankful for my loved ones!!

Here are a bunch of little "onesies," hats, socks, etc.! Aren't they so cute?! Everything is so small!

I am in "nesting" mode. Last week, Dustin and I tore down the guest bedroom and set up the crib, changing table and rocker! We purchased our furniture from LesLey and Dan (D's brother and wife) who were kind enough to give us lots of accessories, too! I can't take a picture of the crib yet because I have to go grab some sheets to put on it, but here are a few pictures of the rocker, changing table and clothes, yes, clothes.....I am a first-time mother, thank you!! I have just been so excited to get a few items in order!

Morrison Reunion Invitations

Yea!! For my birthday, Dustin bought me a new Sony Cyber-shot camera!! It's pink!! Since I don't have anyone to take pictures of (at this moment), I took pictures of the Morrison Reunion invitations! They were made out of paper lunch bags, folded, ironed (creased) and then held together using that crafty straw stuff! The lunch bags are great to use because you can store photos (from the reunion or whatever) in the "pockets" on each page!! ..........Whatever, I can't figure out how to find the pictures I just uploaded.......I suppose I have to wait until my sweet, darling husband shows me how to figure it out!! Be back in a minute....
