It's springtime! Besides my new favorite holiday--Mother's Day--Spring brings out many other "favorites" of mine! Specifically, new flowers, blooming trees, warm evening strolls, shorts, flip flops, sun dresses, afternoons on the beach, grilling hamburgers, sunglasses, driving with our windows rolled down, makin' s'mores in the fire pits, playing "catch," visiting Dog Beach with Choco and sleeping with the windows open! On the other hand, Spring also brings an onslaught of cleaning. I cleaned my blinds last week, which were more than dirty! After a trashcan FULL of black paper towels, I can now open my curtains and windows without turning my hands dark gray! Ha, ha! Funny how dirty things can get when you're not looking! I preferred to keep that dirt hidden behind my curtains all winter, which went nicely with whatever is growing behind my oven, fridge and washer! I suppose I'll have to tackle that task sometime soon, too!
This is Choco looking up at me, just waiting for the "go ahead" to start walking again! What a good pup!
You can barely see her polka-dot pants, but she LOVES staring at the dots all over her legs when she wears these pants. There's an easy parenting tip--forget the toys, just dress her in entertainment!
No, she's not getting tired of me kissing her cheeks at all...why do you ask?
Kavella loves her cousin Tanner!
Dustin had to work REALLY late one night, so Kavella and I drove down to meet him for a little dinner! What a hard worker he is...and so handsome, too!
Look at those monkey toes--she doesn't even use her hands to grab at things, she just whips one of her feet up! JK
Heeeeeeeyyyyyy!!
This is Kavella's friend, Corbin! He's four months older than her.
I'm pretty sure she was working on a small surprise for me....
I sure love my mother! She is selfless, hardworking, smart, self-disciplined and righteous! How thankful I am for the time and effort she put and continues to put toward my salvation! She is always cheerful and I love chatting with her on the phone! I trust my Mom--she has never mislead me and always seeks my best interest! My gratitude is enormous for her talents, perseverance, kindness and love! I love you, Mom! Here is a little poem just for her:
Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
Here we are on another Mother's Day!
I'm just sitting here thinking what to say....
I've told you you're smart and pretty and kind;
You're the best Mom that anyone could find!
You serve others with a smile on your face,
Wherever you are is a better place!
I've already named your talents galore--
Like cooking, teaching, planning and more!
Your piano playing brings us such joy.
You never seek to be mean or annoy.
Your lexicon is extensive and wide,
Which you use in your letters on the side!
I've mentioned how clean you make everything--
Hands, dishes, floors, thoughts and even offspring!
Your swimming techniques are the best in town.
You could draw anything--even a clown!
When it comes to school projects, you're the best!
To all of this and more I can attest!
But, I've shared most of this stuff once before;
My lack of uniqueness I quite deplore!
No candy, flowers or jewelry I send,
But my LOVE for you I'll have till the end!
My enormous thanks I will not subdue;
The only thing to say is I LOVE YOU!!!
Kavella was such a sweetheart on Mother's Day! She gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and chocolate covered strawberries! Plus, she slept from 10:30 pm to 6:00 am! What a gem! Oh, and she rolled over twice! Not sure if it was accidental or not, but it was exciting either way! I am most thankful to be a mom. I love watching Kavella grow and learn! I thank my Heavenly Father for letting me raise her, which teaches me patience, kindness, persistence, time management, service and gratitude! I love being a mom! Dustin made me a delicious steak (my favorite)! What a great Mother's Day!
Jennifer made Kavella this beautiful quilt! Jenn is such a little seamstress! I absolutely love the quilt--thanks sis!!
Isn't it such a great quilt?!? Now she has wonderful quilts from her Aunt Erica, Aunt Jenn, (honorary) Auntie Chante, Granny Morrison and Great-Grandma Roberts!! One to match every outfit! How am I get surrounded by such talented people and yet remain quite clueless on a sewing machine? Ha, ha!
Well, last Friday, Dustin and I decided to take advantage of the two entrees and appetizer deal ($20) at Applebees! I can only remember going there one other time (with my family) while in Oklahoma, but it turned out to be quite tasty! Kavella was enthralled in the Laker's playoff game!
This is Kavella's new friend, Haley! They were watching us make/fix their bows! Choco is always chilling somewhere nearby!
Well, you've made it--this is the last photo shoot post! I'm allowed to post a bagillion pictures of my child because, well, it's my blog!! I love this little ballerina skirt that Granny Morrison gave her! I know the onesie Kavella's wearing with it doesn't really match, but we just threw it on one day and took a few pics! I'll have to put it with a white onesie and tights! After the post, please respond to the question at the bottom--I love learning about my family and friends!
All done! Now, when eating a meal, do you prefer to drink occassionally throughout the meal or wait until the end to guzzle some liquid? I drink after every couple of bites, but Dustin usually doesn't have a sip of anything until the very end of his meal! I don't know how he does it--I have to wash my palate frequently! Currently, my favorite drink is caffiene-free Pepsi....ahhh, the sweet nectar! What's your favorite drink?
"Seriously, guys? It's not even that fun sitting here all by myself--let's go on a walk!"
Kavella loves to spit (above pic) and she's not even teething yet! I'll have to just keep her in perma-bib when she does grow a tooth, otherwise she'll be swimming in saliva! Ha, ha!
The above picture is where she noticed her little toes! It was stinking cute! She just checked them out for a couple minutes...turning them, lifting them, reaching for them....what a great time exploring new things!
Well, Kavella went to the doctor yesterday for her four month check up! She's growing right up! Her weight and head circumference are average--50th percentile--and her height is in the 95th percentile!! She is one tall little lady...for now. They gave her three shots, which was terrible! I can't stand watching her get shots, especially when I have to hold her down. Hate it. Anywhoooo, here is a little video of Kavella laughing! I hope it uploads...
This is one of my favorite pictures! Don't Kavella's little feet look soooo cute!? I can't believe how quickly she grew out of her shoes! I get so sad thinking about how fast she grows--I mean, right when I get the hang of a particular age-related behavior, she grows out of it!! I just want to gobble her right up! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you, Kavella!! You are so beautiful, fun, sweet and perfect! I'm thankful that Heavenly Father sent you to me! What a blessing!
