Starfish and Sea Urchins

Pretty much, this is one of my favorite pictures of Kavella and me that I have. Thank you, Morgan, for taking it! I wish I could say that my daughter is the reason, what with how deliciously cute she is and all, but alas, I'm quite positive her unintentional Klan member hoodie slightly diminishes the overall quality of our portrait sitting....However, I look great! Nothing like the right angle of the camera to help with the picturesque outcome! I'll point out a different angle of the camera that makes me look, well, less than ideal. I swear, it's the camera....ahem....right? :)

A rare photo--Kavella, as a boy. Just kidding. She is still a beautiful, scrumptious baby without a bow! Good thing, because she's been focused on removing it as of late. The sweater that Uncle Ricky and Aunt Morgan got her kept her nice and cozy!

My eternal family.

Okay, never mind. I don't want to talk about this bad camera angle crap. What? No reason in particular, I just don't want to talk about it anymore! Oh, and who is that angry chick on the left? Was she with us the whole time?

Kavella's curiosities were fulfilled by touching the sea life--she especially liked the starfish!

Perfection.

Ricky trying to outrun the blow-hole!

As we walked down the pier on New Year's Day, we noticed a large crowd of people lining up on the beach. Some were in swimming suits, some were in shorts and t-shirts and one was even wearing a crab suit. Go ahead, enlarge the picture and check out the crab in the middle! Anywho, apparently Huntington Beach has an annual New Year's Day Swim! I can only surmise that it represents some sort of new beginning, fresh start or other resolution-style term. However, the only thing it looks like to me is....cold! We were all bundled up and these people were jumping in 53 degree water. Nuts. Again, thanks Morgan for taking the picture!

Choco was just stoked that the baby wasn't with us. Look at all that gray in his goatee that he's grown since she was born. We love our buddy!

Newlyweds on the Pier. Awww, sweet.

Look how crowded the surfing was!

Ha, ha, ha, ha! Our neighbors gave Kavella this pink rocking horse that makes neighing noises. Kavella LOVES to play on it, but in the beginning, she was a little skeptical of the entire process. Her next picture looks more comfortable, I swear! I'll post some video when I get a chance--it's funny!

Since my Grandma Roberts taught me how to sew buttons on, I mended this little p.j. set for Kavella! Snuggly, huh?

Christmas Day!

How could Christmas be any better for a dog? An entire chunk of turkey goodness. Even though she was nursing her husband back from shoulder surgery, Eloise made us the most delicious Christmas dinner! She's the best!

Playing some Christmas carols with Granny!

Kavella got to open her birthday present early--a fishbowl and a super cute Valentine's dress! Thanks, Granny and Poppy!

Dustin, Weez and Mini-Weez!

Look at her reflection against the poinsettia. Precious.

Our little snowman in front of the fireplace.

Oh, my, gosh--look how delectable she is! She seemed to like being the prettiest present on Christmas!

I used to play with "My Little Pony" when I was younger. Now, Kavella got her first Pony!

We were so sad that Grandma and Grandpa Roberts had to drive all the way back to Oklahoma on Christmas Day. We love them!

Aunt Morgan and Uncle Ricky gave Kavella the cutest onesies, socks and sparkly sweater! How thoughtful of them!

"Maybe if I keep looking at them, but reach back here for this present, they won't notice..."

Kavella's first Christmas picture! I'm so thankful to have her for Christmas from now on! Poor Choco in the background--his new permanent location. Poor Choco.

Mom made us the cutest, stitched "Love is Spoken Here" crafts. I put mine on top of my t.v. at home! Good job, Mom!

Christmas morning we started opening presents at 7:00 a.m.!! No, it wasn't because all the grandkids were overwhelmed with excitement....it was mostly because Chris and Colleen had been up since 5:00 a.m., which is when they video conferenced an unwrapping session with Chris' family in Oklahoma. Kavella didn't even wake up until 8:00. I love being with my family! I like to spend as much time as possible with them, so 7:00 a.m. is just fine with me!

Dustin had a ton of gifts, but that was only because I went to the Rip Curl warehouse sale where I got him trunks for $10.00 and sweatshirts for the same price! That's one benefit of living in California!

"Chris, Colleen and others" (the rest of the kids) got Mom and Dad a Red Lobster giftcard and the new Harry Potter movie. It basically paled in comparison to the flow they gave us. We're lame.

The whole crew on Christmas morning....minus Grant, Jenn and the grandkids!
