This picture has nothing to do with Palm Springs. Eloise gave us, well the baby, the cutest little Sunday shoes and head band! She is the best!
This last weekend, Dustin and I cruised out to Palm Springs for the "Managers' Retreat!" While the managers attended meetings, their wives were treated to a spa day! It was really fun--especially since WTI paid for it! :) I got to get a prenatal massage, dangle my legs in the hot tub, lay in the shade by the pool and enjoy a delicious lunch! The ladies I was with were most enjoyable! Nancy, the accountant's wifey, paid close attention to my needs as a pregnant gal and was always willing to offer a hand! She was a gem! Our villa was enormous! The picture above is just half of it--our entire apartment could fit in the front rooms! Oh! And there was a dishwasher; what an invention! I was quite careless with the amount of cups and plates I used! I surely enjoyed our air-conditioned escape, and I am most thankful that Dustin is a dedicated, hard-working husband! I am so proud of him and his new Marketing Manager position, which he will start next year!
Below, I posted a few pics of the windmills that generate energy for California. There are miles of these windmills, all lined up, which look like an actual windmill farm! It's cool to see....
The next pictures are of the Corona fire, which started on Saturday. It jumped the 91 freeway (the freeway we take to get home from Palm Springs), so it closed down. The 57 freeway, an alternate route, was at a dead stop because of evacuations. Fortunately, Dustin and I saw the smoke on our way out of the desert, so we were able to exit the freeways and take the Ortega Hwy route! It passes Lake Elsinore and has pretty views, so I wasn't that upset at our extended drive!
Above, smoke in Corona.....below, when we finally arrived home (in Huntington Beach) it was eerily dark! The wind was blowing to the west, so all the smoke came to the beach! The pictures don't capture it well, but heavy soot and smoke filled our sky!

That is so scary!
Wow, that's quite the fire! I always loved driving by those windmills....
Glad you had such a great time at the spa (sorry you couldn't go into the jacuzzi).
