Answered Prayers and Bonfires

A few weeks ago, Dustin and I started praying for a new dresser. Our old one was quite ridiculous--when you opened a drawer, you'd find your clothes covered in saw dust; we were constantly hammering the entire dresser to keep it from literally falling apart; it had been spray painted to the point that tiny, white pieces of paint were scattered on the carpet. Let's just say, we REALLY needed a new one! So began the prayers! I did my part by looking for free or cheap ones on Craigslist, but to no avail.

About a week after we began praying, our fridge started going out--it began sucking so much electricity that our breaker would overload, causing us to lose power to the entire house! We couldn't have anything on--the lights, t.v., microwave, fan, hairdryer, oven...everything had to be used in sequence, not in sync! Not to mention, the draining system was so old and clogged that it would flood itself. What a mess. Out with the dresser prayers, onto the new fridge prayers!

Precisely a week after we began praying for a new fridge, the transmission in our older truck started slipping. Poor Dustin has to switch it into neutral and drive repeatedly in order to not break down! I think he has a little system that works, but it's still pretty "iffy!" Out with the fridge prayers and....now, at this point, we were getting the hang of this prayer stuff--we decided we'd better stop asking for things and start appreciating the blessings we had! Lesson learned!

Then, while we were out at Granny and Poppy's last week, they surprised us with a beautiful dresser!! We couldn't believe it!! Dave and Eloise are just the GREATEST--our prayers HAD been answered!! We are so thankful to them for their generosity! Look at our sturdy, sleek dresser:

Thanks Mom and Dad Morrison!!

Every day is a good day for a tutu, right? Another treat from Granny Morrison!

To kick Summer off, our ward had an impromptu bonfire! We sure love our ward--we have the nicest, most fun couples! Everyone is down to Earth, full of service and easy to bond with!

Adam and Chante even came down for a few dogs and s'mores!

Can you believe we were all roommates in Hawaii EIGHT years ago!? How time flies!

Jen and Tyson Scott--some of our favorite people! Dustin actually grew up in the same ward as Tyson! Jen is probably the most talented girl west of the Rockies! She makes fun crafts!

Dad and Kavella, ready for an evening on the beach!

What a beautiful dresser! The Morrisons are so wonderful! I hope Colleen and Ricky wrote thank you notes to them for the great Memorial Day weekend. Kavella looks so cute in that little hat. She'll have a nice social group in that ward with the other babies that are close in age. The bonfire looked like a lot of fun! Love, Mom

That is a great dresser!! I hate it when things all break at once, but blessings still abound. I also love Kavella's hat!

That is one dang nice dresser! I liked to see the temple on the top too! If it hadn't have been there, I would've taken it back! ;) Kavella's hat is pretty dang cute, I'm not going to lie about that! I wish our ward had bonfires! That looks like a blast! Love you!
