Happy Halloween!

Ha, ha, haaaaa! Melody, you crack me up! I'm not entirely sure what she was dressed up as, but it's still ghetto fabulous! Maybe a leprechaun? This was at our bi-ward Trunk or Treat.

The Haights dressed as gnomes!

Our little octopus and her Daddy!

Beautiful cousin Cassidy!

Twins! Or, modern-day "partners," which would make Kavella the "boy" of the relationship...just kidding! This is Ivy, one of Kavella's friends in our ward.

The Mary Poppin's Scott family.

Scary Max.

Auntie Deina with her rad trunk.

This is some random dude I don't know--it was just Kavella's very first trick-or-treating experience!

Crazy Carter shaking a tentacle...or leg, whichever you want to call it!

Halloween actually fell on a Sunday, so we didn't go trick-or-treating, but we did stroll down to Main street where they had all sorts of activities going on! We didn't do any of the "jump houses," train rides or face-paintings, but we did venture into the petting zoo area! Trust me, you're not the only one wondering what that goat is doing in the picture above....the guy didn't seem to mind, but we were flabbergasted!

Before petting this little animal, Kavella tried to touch the red and yellow chicken behind us....that was awkward.

Now, this is the tastiest animal in here! Mmmmm, B.L.A.'s. If you know me at all, then you'll know exactly what that means. Exactly. Don't worry Mom, they had washing stations for us to use.

Dustin thought it would be appropriate to teach Kavella how to pop a balloon in her mouth. Not really--they were making noises on it.

Just Random Stuff.

For playgroup one day, we went to a local pond to feed the ducks! Kavella loves ANYTHING outdoors, so she was naturally enamored to treat the ducks to a special treat....specifically, leftover Monster Berry Cereal and Stars. Apparently, this is not a "nutritious item for the ducks," according to some duck-feeding expert there. Not nutritious for the ducks? Well, I'm sure it's fine for humans.

This is our neighbor's dog Roscoe. We babysat him for a week. He can chew ANYTHING to shreds. Big dogs are much different to care for than little dogs. For one, when they drink out of their water bowls, they splash water all around their bowl and across the kitchen floor. Also, you have to do a double-hand, double-bag poo pick up. Another thing, they're always trying to jump up on the couch and bed, but it's much more difficult to push them off! We love Roscoe, but I think I'll stick to small dogs if they want to be indoors.

Brushing her teeth with Daddy! Aren't they cute together?

It's hard for me to reprimand Kavella for wearing her seatbelt inappropriately when I always tuck the strap under my left arm.

Eden and Kavella going to the Haunted Mansion!

Merrick and Kavella riding Small World.

This is my girlfriend Candice! We grew up together in Oklahoma. She lives in Temecula now, which is about an hour from Huntington Beach. It's been fun hanging out with her every once in a while!

Dustin's Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Dustypoo! We sure love you! You're an attentive, loving father and a respectful, patient husband as well as a hard-working, responsible provider. I wouldn't want to be with ANYONE else for eternity. You're the best of the best!

Kavella and Daddy! Aren't they just so snubble-bubble together?

Enlarge the above photo for a taste of teenage attitude. Yup, we're in for it.

Thanks Deina for the cake and jacket! Deina always makes the tastiest food!

Well, Kavella's been climbing out of her crib since she was a year old. Usually, she just goes straight to knocking on her door, which indicates that she is in fact awake and ready to play (we have a doorknob lock, so she's unable to actually escape). Recently, however, she's started "exploring" her room before letting us know she's awake. On this particular day, she donned herself in a cozy beanie for her head and a pair of gloves for her feet--didn't notice the thumbs sticking out of her toes, did you? You've got to be more observant if you want to be a parent...jk.

For her Dad's birthday, Kavella got to make him a hand-painted card! It started out well enough--a little paint here, a dab over here.....

....but, it quickly got out of control and onto her person. It was fun, though!
