Mandalay Bay

Yea!!! It's Mandalay Bay time again! This is the best hotel in all of Las Vegas, in my opinion! Dustin had a trade show, so Kavella and I tagged along for the ride! I love this hotel because they have a wave pool, a lazy river, a kiddie section and sand! Although Dustin had to work most of the time, he was able to meet us for lunch, which was always tasty!

This is Kavella's first pool experience! At first, she didn't appreciate how chilly the water was--she's been used to nice, warm baths and this was freezing!

Eventually, she became more used to the water....

Hurricane Weekend

We got to visit Granny and Poppy in Hurricane! Kavella's Uncle Ricky finally got to meet her! We are so thankful to Dave and Eloise (Granny and Poppy) for letting Ricky and his girlfriend Morgan come for a visit, too! Ricky was so funny with Kavella.....for example, when she was sitting peacefully in her carseat, I asked Ricky to watch her for a second while I ran to the truck to get something. "Well, what do I do?" he asked. "Oh, just look at her and rock her seat a little if she fusses," I replied. So, I run out to the truck, returning within the minute. When I get back, Ricky is gently rocking her carseat. Beaming, he proudly says, "I DID it!" I was so proud of him, ha, ha!

Dave took Ricky and Morgan on a little plane ride! They loved it! Dave is an ace in the air!

The airplane driveway to the house!

What a sugarpie!

Lounging in the warm, evening air!

We asked her how she feels that Obama is President and this was her reaction (above picture). Ha! Kids these days!

This is a really neat overlook--the cliff drops off right behind us! You can see how far down it goes!

A little evening ride on the boat!

Kavella's first boat ride! She was a champ!

Morgan, Ricky and Eloise

My sweet, white man!

We had to visit the dino tracks, of course!

My handsome husband!

Father and Son

Okay, so Eloise made some tasty salsa for breakfast one morning. When Dustin went to get the chips to accompany it, this is what he found! Literally, like ten bags of partially filled tortilla chips--each with it's own baggie clip and remaining chips! None of them were stale, either! It was hilarious! We helped consolidate the chips!

Choco loves to ride in the truck!

We had to wait a few hours in Vegas for Dustin to set up the booth, so Kavella took a little snoozer!

Answered Prayers and Bonfires

A few weeks ago, Dustin and I started praying for a new dresser. Our old one was quite ridiculous--when you opened a drawer, you'd find your clothes covered in saw dust; we were constantly hammering the entire dresser to keep it from literally falling apart; it had been spray painted to the point that tiny, white pieces of paint were scattered on the carpet. Let's just say, we REALLY needed a new one! So began the prayers! I did my part by looking for free or cheap ones on Craigslist, but to no avail.

About a week after we began praying, our fridge started going out--it began sucking so much electricity that our breaker would overload, causing us to lose power to the entire house! We couldn't have anything on--the lights, t.v., microwave, fan, hairdryer, oven...everything had to be used in sequence, not in sync! Not to mention, the draining system was so old and clogged that it would flood itself. What a mess. Out with the dresser prayers, onto the new fridge prayers!

Precisely a week after we began praying for a new fridge, the transmission in our older truck started slipping. Poor Dustin has to switch it into neutral and drive repeatedly in order to not break down! I think he has a little system that works, but it's still pretty "iffy!" Out with the fridge prayers and....now, at this point, we were getting the hang of this prayer stuff--we decided we'd better stop asking for things and start appreciating the blessings we had! Lesson learned!

Then, while we were out at Granny and Poppy's last week, they surprised us with a beautiful dresser!! We couldn't believe it!! Dave and Eloise are just the GREATEST--our prayers HAD been answered!! We are so thankful to them for their generosity! Look at our sturdy, sleek dresser:

Thanks Mom and Dad Morrison!!

Every day is a good day for a tutu, right? Another treat from Granny Morrison!

To kick Summer off, our ward had an impromptu bonfire! We sure love our ward--we have the nicest, most fun couples! Everyone is down to Earth, full of service and easy to bond with!

Adam and Chante even came down for a few dogs and s'mores!

Can you believe we were all roommates in Hawaii EIGHT years ago!? How time flies!

Jen and Tyson Scott--some of our favorite people! Dustin actually grew up in the same ward as Tyson! Jen is probably the most talented girl west of the Rockies! She makes fun crafts!

Dad and Kavella, ready for an evening on the beach!
